The Big 7 is an absolute core of Lampizator’s portfolio. It is flanked by its two siblings – the stripped down version called The Lite 7 and the dressed up version called The Golden Gate with which it shares the same basic schematics.
The Big 7 is a DAC that combines the digital technology of the 21st century with the Directly Heated Triode technology, dating as far as 1914 year in case of 101D triode. DHT represent the finest, most radically musical approach to single ended amplification. It comes in many variants, most importantly as Single Ended (SE) or Truly Balanced, and also as Volume Controlled Preamp or straight DAC. Every Big 7 has USB input able to play all known music files – be it PCM or DSD up to 256x or optionally 512x.
BIG 7 MK2 DAC is the entry level to the world of DHT tubes. Given it’s relatively modest price, the Big7 is the best bankg for the buck in high end range of products from Lampizator. With Volume Control, it also makes the favorite preamp.
